Visit the Viennese Prater
No stay in Vienna is really complete without a visit to the Prater. Originally, this green expanse was an untouched river landscape by the Danube.
But we are sending you to the famous amusement park – the so-called Würstelprater – at the northwestern tip between the Danube and the Danube Canal. You deserve a break after a long convention or strenuous seminar, and taking a ride on the world-famous giant Ferris wheel, one the city’s distinctive landmarks, is a great way to unwind. Although the Viennese Prater is only in season from March to October, the Ferris wheel and various other attractions are open year-round.
If you prefer tranquillity over the fairground atmosphere, the so-called Green Prater is for you. This expanse of woodlands and meadows was formerly a hunting ground of the ruling Habsburg dynasty. Today, it invites nature lovers to walk, cycle, horse ride and hike. You will also enjoy stopping off at one of the coffee houses along the way.
Which do you prefer – the hurly-burly of the fairground or the peace and tranquillity of the city’s ‘green lung’? The choice is yours, and with the help of the Viennese Prater App, you are sure to find the perfect activity for your seminar participants.
